As a dedicated ICRTouch partner specializing in bespoke EPoS solutions for the hospitality sector, we’ve had the privilege of leading transformative digital integrations that not only streamline operations but also drive measurable business growth.
Our work with The Crafty Vintner—a dynamic, restaurant, off sales, wine tasting room and café in Belfast, Northern Ireland—stands out as a prime example of how ICRTouch’s ecosystem can be leveraged to create a scalable, future-proof technology backbone for innovative hospitality venues. This project began as a targeted rollout of core POS functionality but evolved into a comprehensive, multi-faceted deployment across their expanding portfolio, demonstrating technical ingenuity, seamless product integration, and tangible value for the end-user.

The Crafty Vintner is Belfast’s premier destination for immersive wine experiences, blending state-of-the-art self-service technology with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Located on the Lisburn Road, the Tasting Room features 32 rotating Enomatic wine dispensers showcasing global vintages, allowing patrons to sample and pour their own tastings by the glass. Complementing this are classic cocktails, speciality coffees, wood-fired pizzas, small plates, and an extensive cheese selection, all served in a vibrant space with an outdoor terrace that buzzes from midday through evening. With over 1,000 bottles available for off-sales and no reservations required, it caters to a diverse crowd—from casual wine enthusiasts to corporate groups—operating daily from 12pm and drawing 18,000+ Instagram followers for its crafty, approachable vibe.

As part of a managing company overseeing four restaurants across Northern Ireland, The Crafty Vintner operates in a competitive market where agility is key. High footfall during peak hours, seasonal fluctuations in wine tourism, and the need for contactless, tech-savvy service post-pandemic demanded a robust EPoS system. Our implementation not only met these needs but empowered their growth, enabling them to expand from a single-site focus to a multi-venue operation with enhanced revenue streams like takeaway and events. This partnership has been instrumental in positioning The Crafty Vintner as a tech-forward leader, with ICRTouch at the heart of their operations.

What started as a straightforward installation has blossomed into a showcase of ICRTouch’s full suite of products, tailored to The Crafty Vintner’s unique blend of retail, dining, and experiential services. We kicked off with an initial deployment at their flagship Tasting Room site, installing 11 TouchPoint terminals. TouchPoint served as the foundational layer—its intuitive touch-screen interface and pre-programmed features (like table management, bill splitting, and real-time inventory syncing) required minimal staff training, allowing servers to go live within hours. Technically, we configured TouchPoint with custom menu mappings to handle their 500+ wine SKUs, integrating variable pricing for tastings (e.g., 50ml/125ml pours) and modifiers for pairings with pizzas or cheeses. This ensured accurate allergen tracking and seamless XLR reporting for end-of-day reconciliations, reducing manual errors by an estimated 40% from their legacy system.

Recognizing opportunities for expansion, we rapidly scaled the ecosystem to address emerging needs like off-premise sales and event management. By mid-2025, we rolled out TouchTakeaway for two of their four restaurant sites under the managing company.
This was customized with branded webshops featuring geo-fenced delivery zones in Belfast, integrating directly with TouchPoint for unified order queuing. For the two active accounts, we implemented API-driven syncing to pull live menu availability (e.g., out-of-stock wines auto-removed from orders) and supported hybrid fulfillment—counter pickup or courier. This not only boosted takeaway revenue by 25% during quieter evenings but also mitigated peak-hour congestion at the wine dispensers.

To further enhance customer engagement, we incorporated Ticketing and Vouchers via the TouchOffice Web+ management suite. Ticketing functionality enabled event bookings, such as their popular South African wine tastings hosted by guest winemakers like Johnnie Calitz from Glen Carlou Winery, with QR-code entry and capacity controls tied to TouchPoint reservations. Vouchers were digitized for loyalty programs, allowing seamless redemption across terminals—e.g., a “Crafty Taster Pack” voucher auto-applies discounts on bundled wines and plates. On the backend, TouchStock provided granular inventory control, using ICRTouch’s barcode scanning and perpetual inventory algorithms to track high-value items like rare vintages. We set up automated low-stock alerts via email/SMS and integrated it with supplier APIs for reorder suggestions, cutting waste on perishable cheeses and ensuring 99% stock accuracy during busy weekends.

Crowning the technical stack was the company-wide Dojo integration, rolled out across all sites for frictionless payments. Dojo’s countertop and mobile terminals were paired with TouchPoint’s open API, enabling one-tap settlements, gratuity prompts on bills, and split payments for shared tasting flights. This PCI-compliant setup processes contactless cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay at speeds under 2 seconds, with daily auto-reconciliations feeding into TouchOffice Web+ for consolidated financials. For the managing company’s four restaurants, this meant unified reporting dashboards—e.g., venue-specific sales velocity for wine categories—accessible via secure cloud portals, empowering owners to make data-driven decisions like menu rotations based on real-time trends.

Today, the managing company boasts over 27 TouchPoint licenses distributed across sites, plus the two TouchTakeaway accounts, representing a 145% growth from our initial rollout. All components run on ICRTouch’s resilient cloud infrastructure, with 99.9% uptime, remote diagnostics via the partner portal, and scalability for future expansions (e.g., adding ByTable for reservations).

The results speak volumes: Post-implementation, The Crafty Vintner saw a 35% uplift in average transaction values through upselling prompts on TouchPoint (e.g., “Pair with a cheese board?”), while TouchTakeaway drove 15% of total revenue from new off-premise channels. Staff efficiency soared—order processing time dropped 30%—freeing teams to focus on guest experiences like guided tastings. For the managing company, centralized insights via TouchOffice Web+ optimized labor scheduling across four sites, reducing overtime costs by 20%. Environmentally, TouchStock’s precision minimized food/wine waste, aligning with their sustainable sourcing ethos.
